May 18, 2009 - It has become a realization! Sheboygan Herp Society is the real deal and people have noticed that it has not been around! Honestly, I am saddened that the group did not let the name stay running, but I have given it a rebirth with a whole different attitude. Sheboygan Herp Society is based on Education and Legislation. We are staying as a small scale rescue with big hopes to educate the public more and more on what legislation means to animal keepers. Sheboygan Herp Society Bylaws are set and deemed appropriate so please read them and if you would like, respond to them on the forums or email.

May 21, 2009 - Some very exciting news! We have been invited to audition for a showing @ John Michael Kohler Arts Center. Reptiles on THEATRE! How exciting. I will be talking to Tomas on May 28 and discussing what will be expected.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
May 23, 2009 - Looks like our schedule is filling up pretty fast. Wally from Supreme Gecko has set up a date to tour The Sheboygan Herp Society/Monster Boas facility on May 31st. I am prepping everything for this date because I want everything to be perfect for their visit. Things have been looking positive for The Sheboygan Herp Society and to be honest, I couldn't ask for anything more. It brings me back to when me and my wife started The Sheboygan Herp Society 7 years ago! I want to make sure the Sheboygan Herp Society stays ROCKING!

May 26, 2009 - Well we have some very cool things coming up. The first one being the audition for theatre. This is going to be weird at first because this will be the first type of show with reptiles in theatre. I have to prepare a portfolio to present to the person in charge of putting this show on. Also, we have been preparing for Wally's tour group this Sunday (5/31/09) I been breaking back to get prepared because they say "First impressions last a lifetime" I should start a Twitter page or something for you all to stay up with what we are doing, now if I can only figure out how to work that darn site :)

May 28, 2009 - Was just contacted by Scott of "All Animal Expo" and The Sheboygan Herp Society will have a table there on July 5th! If all works out well we may do alot more shows there. Also, The Society will have many, many roaches there to sell for Society funds so stop on by and pick some up! Well today is the day for auditions! I go in and talk with Tomas and see if he likes my work. I drew up a portfolio with Society history, animal information and pictures. I will keep everyone up to date on how this plays out. I am still preparing for Wally's tour group, he had contacted me and told me there will be a minimum of 10 people but looks more like 15 people will take the tour. I want to make sure I aim to please because I want the Society to make sure we have an impact on our hobby.

June 1, 2009 - Had a vary fun filled week! On Thursday (05/28/09) I went in for the Theatre audition and it looks like we will be in theatre! I am really excited. Tomas was an awesome guy with some BIG thoughts. He wont be back in the states until the 3rd week in July so we will have minimal time to rehearse. Stay tuned for more updates as we get them. Also this weekend (0/31/09) we had Wally's tour group visit! Now talk about alot of fun. There was a dozen or so people to make the visit and these people were real fun to hang out with. ALOT of pictures and alot of questions. We had a great cookout and everyone brought sides and it was great. I want to thank Wally for putting together this!

June 2, 2009 - Well, this last weekend Wally from Supreme Gecko brought a tour group through and it was a great success. From the looks of it people are giving positive results. I want to really thank Wally for such a great time. The animals acted real docile and the people were truly amazed. I cant wait to see what Wally has up his sleeves next.

June 9, 2009 - Have some awesome shows coming up real soon. The Children's Museum has always proven to be a great time. I will need to make sure I get some pictures of this show. Also, we have a show date for the All Animal Expo coming up in the beginning of July so make sure you make it out and come say hello! We have a couple new rescues coming in. One being a Ball Python with enclosure and the other being a Nile Monitor with huge enclosure. I just want everyone to know experience in reptile reacue trumps all. We have been doing rescue work for 7 years and I honestly do not see an end to it. Sheboygan Herp Society is here for the long haul.

June 24, 2009 - Children's Museum is here and gone :) We had a great show. We had a couple new people come with us so they understand what goes into making a show successful. Special Thanks to Steven for talking to Museum members about his reptiles. I want to Thank the Children's Museum for having us there again this year! Next is The 4th of July Parade and we have so much help this year its great!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
July 20, 2009 - Fourth of July Parade was AWESOME! The responses we got this year was amazing! We had alot of volunteers that helped out and really enjoyed themselves. The crowd was great, they all wanted to be able to touch the snakes and get a lot of pictures! I want to thank the City of Sheboygan for inviting us back this year. Also we attended the All Animal Expo and special Thanks to Scott Smith for having us! On another note, Sheboygan residents make me feel welcomed with the Society. We are still getting mass calls and emails pertaining to shows and/or rescues. Sheboygan Herp Society is rocking it out really well and before long we will be where we were a year ago or so ago.

July 27, 2009 - I met one on one with Tomas (Sheboygan Shebang) and discussed alot of different aspects about the upcoming theatre show. I put a video up about it and I hope to get it on the forums yet tonight. Tomas will be coming to the house to hang out soon to have a cookout with us and kick back a few beers. We also set up a new show. It will be a short showing at a local church here that is doing a reptile segment so this should be pretty exciting. we took in a few resces since last time I blogged. We took in a Leopard Gecko (which unfortunately died after 3 days because of serious sand impaction) and a Ball Python. Which I might be keeping in the collection because it was an old Society members snake. SEWERFest is just around the corner and this show is always fun!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
August 3, 2009 - Couple different things went on, first our presentation with thee church group went over really well. EVERYBODY was extremely happy that I was able to bring out a couple gators and was able to talk about them. Its shows like this that make the hobby fun. I think I should be able to get pictures of the show we just have to email them and request them. Also on the other side, we attended the August SEWERFest and that was also great fun. I was able to talk to quite a number of people and the word on the street is that people were real excited we are still around. Also, I was able to sell some roaches to benefit the society. I want to thank everyone for their donations and their kind words.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
August 10, 2009 - I have been meeting with Tomas reguarding The Big Sheboygan Shebang and I am simply amazed! Tomas is so gracious to have some people make us a great backdrop banner got our booth! Also, he came over on Saturday (8/8/09) to meet and greet the snake he will be holding during the Theatre part of this show. Tomas has some excellent plans for us and I honestly cant wait. Also, this week will be rehursals so I will be pretty busy but it will be well worth it. I am putting all my effort into what goes into the Society for the 2009 season! You know you are spreading the most positive word when you have people calling to adopt reptiles. I want to thank everyone that has called and I will be sure to get you on the waiting list and I want to personally thank you for your interest! Remember people, put effort into the hobby NOT the industry!
